Do you ever re-visit old work just to see how far you’ve come?

I personally don’t enjoy doing this, but I like to on occasion just to see the places I’ve gained strength and vision. It builds character and conviction I believe. David Byrne of Talking Heads once claimed he never listens to his old music because it can ‘t possibly reflect who he is in the present. I guess in some way I “get” his mindset. Sure, sometimes I look at old work and think “Geez, my designs were so naive.” But, turn that frown upside down and find some positive! I can also pat myself on the back and be grateful that I am now more fluid, tool-fluent, and true to how I really want to design something – not how I think a design “should” look or feel.
